For those not in the know, an upfront is when a TV network presents its plans for the next year. It’s one of their main ways of convincing advertisers that they have the programming that will attract the most of a particular target audience.


BATMAN: THE BRAVE & THE BOLD

Think James Tucker would be out of work long after they closed down Legion? Yeah, like that was going to happen.

Tucker has been named supervising producer of the much-anticipated latest Batman series. As many have already guessed, it features the Caped Crusader teaming up with some other major denizen of the DC universe. Among those mentioned were Green Arrow, Blue Beetle and even Aquaman. Now if they have any brains about them, I’d like to see a certain creepy yellow guy as well as a blonde bombshell who can blow you away by just opening up her lips.

Joining Tucker on the crew are the likes of fellow executive producer Linda M. Steiner, story editor and rising WB star Michael Jelenic as well as episode directors Ben Jones, Brandon Vietti and Michael Chang. According to informed sources, voice recording is going down now and the series is targeted to debut next March.

BIRDS of PREY on DVD II

Now TVShowsonDVD has got the box art up for Birds of Prey: The Complete Series.

But the best news is: When Warner Home Video announced yesterday that BOP was coming to DVD, they said the release date was July 29. Today they've announced that the release date will be JULY 15!!! Two whole weeks earlier!!

Titans #1 - Preview

I'm still not a fan of Ian Churchill, but I'm hating the idea of this series less. Although, since he'll be gone after the first issue and replaced by Joe Benitez... I'm still not holding out much hope.

Superpowers: Origins - The Claw

Most people who are aware of The Claw probably know him mostly as the arch-nemesis of the golden-age Daredevil. But The Claw actually preceded Daredevil by about 9 months, having first appeared in SILVER STREAK COMICS #1. Odd that a monster/villain would have his own feature, did that happen frequently in the golden age?

Anyway, The Claw appeared on the cover of PROJECT: SUPERPOWERS #0 and in the 2-page fight scene. Whether or not he will appear again, I don't know. But he was the Daredevil's main advisory for quite awhile, and the 'Devil is a main character in PROJECT: SUPERPOWERS, so...

Here's (not really the origin, but) the first appearance of The Claw.

And that last page! A bunch of nekkid menz fightin' the bad guys. What's not to love!!?

Superpowers: Origins - Golden Age Daredevil

The Death-Defying 'Devil (formerly-known-as [the golden age] Daredevil), made a brief appearance in PROJECT: SUPERPOWERS #0, and returns in the upcoming PROJECT: SUPERPOWERS #2. But where does he come from...?

Well, he origin doesn't really give much of a clue. Between his first and second appearances the character had a pretty major overhaul. He started out as a yellow and blue clad mute in SILVER STREAK COMICS #6. In SILVER STREAK COMICS #7, his costume was red and blue...and he could speak. No reasons were ever given for the change.
