"GOOD DEED" DOTTY

- AN' THAT'S THAT FER CHRIS'MUS

Happy TURKEY Day, JOE!

Here's a holiday-themed cautionary tale with the message: "Be careful what you wish for!"

I can't imagine that some poor child back in the day didn't lose sleep over this one...

Project Superpowers: DYNAMIC MAN!

Today's PROJECT SUPERPOWERS Flashback Spotlight is on: Dynamic Man!

Dynamic Man has been one of the main forces of villainy in the first issues of PROJECT SUPERPOWERS, along with Dynamic Boy and their company Dynamic Forces.

Dynamic Man debuted in DYNAMIC COMICS #1 (October 1948) from Dynamic Publications, one of the many Harry "A" Chesler imprints. He was an android created by Dr. Moore to fight the forces of evil. Unfortunately, the good doctor died at the hands of black magic just as Dynamic Man was born.

Dynamic Man appeared in every issue of DYNAMIC COMICS #1-3, 8-24 (October 1941-March 1948) (There were no issues 4-7).

I'm glad Dynamic Man was able to rub out the Yellow Spot!! Just the name inspires fear!! I wonder if he'll be turning up in PROJECT SUPERPOWERS?

The real question is: How many times can I use the word "Dynamic" in single post...?

You can read a whole bunch more

FINAL CRISIS: The Golden Age

If you thought Mary Marvel's mudslide to madness was something that Grant Morrison came up with, you'd be wrong!

The seeds for her descent into darkness were being planted 65 years ago!

Who knew they had been planning FINAL CRISIS that long!? Crafty li'l devils!!

And she's not just a little bad. She sets fire to a grocery store full of people and cackles "What fun! Burn them up! Burn them all up!" Darkseid didn't have to push her too far...

Check out the day Mary turned evil...the first time!

Project Superpowers: Target and the Targeteers!

Today's PROJECT SUPERPOWERS Flashback Spotlight is on: The Target and the Targeteers!!

The Target was one of the cover-stars featured on PROJECT SUPERPOWERS #5.

Here's some interesting trivia from Toonopedia:
"...here's a case where the name was used first for a continuing comic book, and only later was a character to match it introduced. It shared this trait with Centaur Publications' STARS & STRIPES and Lev Gleason's THE SILVER STREAK.
"TARGET COMICS was the first one... It debuted with a cover date of February, 1940...
"It wasn't until the tenth issue (November, 1940) that The Target himself was introduced, and only in the 11th did The Targeteers come along."

Now, from May 1942, here's a story originally found in TARGET COMICS vol.3 #3 (aka the 27th issue).

(What? You thought doing comics in 12 issue "seasons" was a new idea?):
