A 40-year old cover gets swiped. Not once -- but twice. And just a couple months apart. Kinda crazy.
Our Army at War #195by Joe Kubert
(July 1968)
Countdown to Final Crisis #17by Pete Woods
(January 2, 2008)
Action Comics #862 (variant)by Keith Giffen and Al Milgrom
(April 2008)
Thanks for the info and cover to Our Army at War #195-I had read that the two other covers were homages to an old cover, but had no idea which one it was. Now I know :)
ReplyDeleteIf I can change the life of just one person... lol!
ReplyDeleteAll I knew was that Pete Woods signed his "Woods after Kubert," so I assumed it was a Joe Kubert war/army cover. Had to do a lot of searching to find it (I was so curious).
Then I decided to share.
Glad I was helpful! :)
The original cover is beautiful. The knock offs are just so-so. I've really been getting into war comics lately and I don't know why.
ReplyDeleteI like the Pete Woods one the best. But that's just me. Pete Woods can do no wrong. Not even Amazons Attack. The story sucked, but I can look at the pictures endlessly.
