Happy TURKEY Day, JOE!

Here's a holiday-themed cautionary tale with the message: "Be careful what you wish for!"

I can't imagine that some poor child back in the day didn't lose sleep over this one...

The LEGION hits SMALLVILLE in January

At the end of this week's Smallville we got the preview for the next episode, which won't air until January 15. But it does afford us our first glimpse of the Smallville-ized Legion of Super-Heroes (if you don't blink)!

Here are some quality screencaps from KryptonSite (Your Source For Smallville News and Information):

Alexz Johnson, Calum Worthy and Ryan Kennedy as
Saturn Girl, Lightning Lad and Cosmic Boy.

Legion villain: The Persuader!

Don't be fooled by this quasi-Batman-looking character after "New Legends" flashes across the screen. This is actually a scene from a past episode where Ollie Queen dressed up in a red and blue outfit so Clark could convince Jimmy that he wasn't the "red and blue blur" running around Metropolis.

Analyze This ... Blog!

Via Sea of Green's Hoosier Journal of Inanity, I came across LibraryBytes' collection of tools with which to analyze your blog. And I decided to play!! (I'm such a follower!) They're kinda fun!!

Typealyzer analyzes what type of person writes the blog. This is me (I'm a "feeler" which sounds kinda bad, when you're mind works like mine does...)--
The analysis indicates that the author of http://comicsnthings.blogspot.com is of the type:

ESFP - The Performers

The entertaining and friendly type. They are especially attuned to pleasure and beauty and like to fill their surroundings with soft fabrics, bright colors and sweet smells. They live in the present moment and don't like to plan ahead - they are always in risk of exhausting themselves.

The enjoy work that makes them able to help other people in a concrete and visible way. They tend to avoid conflicts and rarely initiate confrontation - qualities that can make it hard for them in management positions.

The Genderanalyzer determines the gender of the blog writer:
We think http://comicsnthings.blogspot.com/ is written by a woman (73%).
I guess I focus too much on the package... :-/

The Blog Readability Test determines the level of education required to understand your blog. You need at to be at least at a High School reading level to understand my blog, apparently. I would've guessed closer to sixth grade. Who knew!?

You can also find out how much your blog is worth.

blog readability test

My blog is worth $5,080.86.
How much is your blog worth?

Action Comics 871 - Possible SPOILERS Ahead

I'm warning you! There may be SPOILERS here!

Is there more to this scene than meets the eye:
Patrick C over at his blog thinks so. I'm not naming the blog because that gives away the whole point, but he does have sound theories. Personally, I think that would rock!!

Damn, I can't even put proper categories on this thing without giving it away!! LOL!

Obama reads Comics

According to U.K. news source The Telegraph, U.S. President Barack Obama collects Spider-Man and Conan the Barbarian comics!! How cool is that!?

He's also a 2-time Grammy winner and reads Harry Potter.

But...and I don't know how big of a comic person he actually is (or was, I'm sure he's got bigger things to worry about now than Pete and MJ's marriage)... But, how much more cred do you think comics could/might get if they were read by a freakin' President?

Probably none, since it's not as important as a lot of other things. But it's still interesting to think about...

All of these things are just like the others...

Can you decipher what all these movies have in common?

Okay, yeah, I was bored. Sorry.

My latest DC Goodness from Mattel!

It's kinda funny: I really didn't think I'd be able to find the DC Universe Wonder Woman on a store shelf. For sure I'd be hunting and hunting and end up getting it on eBay. But I walked into Target at apparently just the right time! Not only did I find a Wonder Woman...but there were actually 3 of them hanging on the almost full pegs. No Batman Beyond (which I don't care, I'm just mentioning it) but look what I found:

DC UNIVERSE CLASSICS: Wave 4
WONDER WOMAN

DC UNIVERSE CLASSICS: Wave 4
ARTEMIS (variant)

I knew I'd never get an Artemis, being a chase figure and all, but "woot" there she was. I'm pretty positive that the only reason she was still there is because the plastic tag on the back was half ripped off, making the package not totally MINT! AHHH! But who cares!? I just want the figure. And the front is fine!!

DC UNIVERSE CLASSICS: Wave 4
ARES

Had no intention of getting Ares. But he looks so damn cool!! How could I not!?

DC UNIVERSE CLASSICS: Wave 4
CYBORG

Yeah, like I wasn't gonna pick up that one!!

DC UNIVERSE INFINITE HEROES
CRISIS SERIES: Three Pack
WEATHER WIZARD, FLASH, MIRROR MASTER

I don't know why. Probably just because I think the Infinite Heroes are so cute. But I'll be passing on the Commissioner Gordon set. Who needs police men? Yawn.

DC UNIVERSE: JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED
Fan Collection
HAWKMAN

I really don't know if Hawkman is a new figure, but I hadn't picked one up before. When I saw it, I just thought he looked kinda cool, so what the heck!?

Super: HERO underwear from aussieBum!

aussieBum has got some cool looking underwear with a super-hero motif going on. I don't know if the art is from a comics artist or just a commercial artist they hired, but it is fun and dynamic.

Warning to Fellas Afraid of Goolies: The models employed by aussieBum are actual, real-live male-gendered beings. Meaning they are anatomically correct. The fabric does not stretch flat across the crotch as it would on a Ken doll. You may want to avoid visiting the site. I would hate for your fantasies that men do not have a visible bulge "down there" to be shattered...
